Match me: Indiana Political Science

White male , 16, senior, (skipped a grade, does this help?)
I’d like to get into law school after an undergrad in PolSci.
Gpa in high school isn’t great, but hoping to get a good GPA and LSAT to get into a good law school.
Gpa: 3.02 unweighted (I slacked off and didn’t realize how important my gpa was until now)
PSAT: 1270 without any studying (hoping to get 1300-1400 after study)
I’ve always been in advanced math classes
Not many AP classes at my school so I’ve taken 2 and am taking 3

Extracurriculars
Read at church, taught religious education for a year, took care of said church’s garden for 6 years. Scout for all my life, on track to eagle, held highest leadership position in troop for past year. Homecoming prince sophomore and junior year (does this matter?) I was in NUMATS, tennis for 4 years varsity 2.

I’m pretty good with words so I can probably write up a decent essay

Looking at IU Bloomington and Purdue
Safety is Ball State
Reach is UPitt
Am I still reaching with IU and Purdue? What other schools am I missing?

Is money an issue - if not, there’s lots of schools you can get in.

But not these except Ball State. You might look at MTSU, UTC, Bama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, etc. Also WVU, URI, Ohio U, Toledo, Bowling Green, etc. or the directions like Southern Illinois (no out of state tuition). good luck.

If cost is a concern, here is a link to the Indiana Tuition Exchange Site for certain other OOS Midwest Schools. You may want to look at Cincinnati, Kansas, and Kansas State that participate in this program. Good luck!

Have you taken the SAT or ACT? If not, I wouldn’t at this point.

What major are you looking to apply to?

For IU and Purdue, and the rest of the schools on your ultimate list, you need to make the EA deadlines, many of which are Nov 1…so get writing your common app essay, as well as any supplemental essays that are due.

What is your budget? I agree with many of the suggestions already made pending the budget/major info, I would add Iowa and Iowa State.
