Agree that paying $20K per year doesn’t sound like low income for most of my former students.

Besides, you need every bit of that cash for health insurance, which is not covered by scholarships, travel expenses, room expenses/toiletries/school supplies, and cash on hand.

Your list of activities seems like you’re trying to stretch them into exaggerated clubs. How long did you participate in these activities?
The colleges want to see commitment and passion for certain EC’s which includes long-term help.

This looks like you are scrambling to fit what you think colleges want. It doesn’t work that way. If we can see through it, then you can bet an admissions committee will see through this and will wonder how this all happened in the short amount of time you had as a high school student.

Middle School activities don’t count unless you have continued to participate fully in them in high school.

If you plan to attend a university in the U.S., you cannot exaggerate the truth. When you sign that application, you are confirming that all of the information, on your application, is true. The universities place a high emphasis on integrity and honesty. The consequences are extremely serious and are not taken lightly.

Also, if you plan on majoring in a STEM field, make sure you will be employable in India because the universities will educate you, but they wont employ you. You cannot expect to be sponsored by a US company once you graduate from an American university.
