Match/Safety/Reach list

Please post the list of colleges you applied to and next to each school write what you classified it as BEFORE admission results came out (ie. match, safety or reach) and then if you were accepted to the school.

ex. School X - Match - Accepted
School Y - Safety - Denied

I just wanted this information as I try to compile my own list that contains equal amounts of matches, safeties and reaches. I realize that this classification will be different for each person.
Thanks!!! =)

wow great idea! i'm only a HS soph so I can't say but I wish some people would post here considering I have pretty much no safeties, good luck!

bump bump bump =)

High Reach- Yale University (Rejected);
Cornell University (Rejected);
Duke University (Rejected);
Slight Reach- Dartmouth College (Rejected);
Swarthmore College (Waitlisted);
Middlebury College (Accepted);
Wesleyan University (Accepted);
Carleton College (Accepted);
College of William & Mary (Accepted, Out-of-State);
New York University (Accepted);
Match- University of California, Berkeley (Accepted);
University of Notre Dame (Accepted);
Bowdoin College (Rejected);
Safety- University of California, Los Angeles (Rejected);
University of California, Irvine (Accepted).

perhaps it would be more useful if people posted their stats also, like SATs, GPA, and maybe a 1 to 10 ranking of ECs and recs/interview.

Eh, that's asking for a lot. Basically, this thread works best to "feel" how other students think their shot at certain colleges are, where a particular student applies (and gets accepted or rejected), and to see how often matches/safeties fail. I don't see the need to post statistics or rate our ECs/Recs- I think the acceptances/rejections have already testified to this.

TTG

High Match- Cornell (Accepted, ED)
Safety- Penn State Honors (Accepted), UF Honors (Accepted), UCF (Accepted)

Yea I don't want stats (that would be sooo much info to post!)...my whole point was just to understand how often people get accepted to what they THINK (I don't know how to italicize) are their safeties, matches and reaches.
Thanks for the info!

I'd looove to have more from other people too =)

i think we need another BUUUUUUMPP

heh...I wonder if there are many seniors who've already been accepted wandering around this forum anymore...

If you read these boards you will see that what people think is not a good measure. There is everything from the extremely unrealistic to the highly qualified insecure.

jimmy...are you kidding? there are people who practically LIVE on CC.

well yes but people could also post the thoughts and acceptances of friends or relatives even if they aren't yet seniors

BIG reaches:
Princeton: Accepted
Harvard: Deferred/Rejected
Brown: Rejected (Applied for PLME)
Cornell: Rejected
Columbia: Rejected

Tufts - Reach - Accepted
Yale - High Reach - Rejected

for whoever wanted stats (which i think are useless in predicting this stuff, but it's fun to be paranoid together), search my posts and you'll find them somewhere if you care that much
