Materials Engineering Graduate School

Howdy Aggies!

I am looking into getting enrolled to the Materials Science and Engineering Graduate program at TAMU. Right now I am doing Mechanical Engineering and so far I have taken an introductary course in Materials Science which I found really interesting. In addition, I have taken Mechanics of Materials and the thermal-science sequence.

Now, do you think that it is appropriate for me to apply to the graduate program in Materials Science? I heard that it is a multidisplinary program so basically I need to have many background in many topics. Would you recommend any courses that I should take to prepare me for this? And to people who are enrolled in the grad program, do you find the topics as interesting as you thought it would be before starting?
