DD has been looking at UPenn, Northwestern & Cornell for Materials Science. She really wants to continue her studies in Nanotechnology. That said, does anybody know what the new rankings are for the respective programs?

The 2012 Rankings for Materials Engineering

Northwestern - 5; Cornell 8; U Penn 11.

Thank you - I almost wish there had been a wider range so we could tick off one or two.

Another ranking out there is NRC:
High S and R-Rank:

Cornell 33 & 23
Northwestern 3 & 3
Penn 16 & 20

NU also has the best chemistry department out of the three. Chemistry is another field where a lot of nanotech research are conducted.

Trivia: Northwestern University instituted the first materials science department in the world in 1955
