I’m going to be taking MATH-118 this upcoming fall semester, but have no idea about how the grading works in this course. Therefore, I have a few questions for anybody who has taken MATH-118.

Is there a set percentage of A’s given out per class? If so, does that percentage differ per professor (for example, are some professors more generous about the number of A’s given out than others?). Or, is that percentage determined by how many people get A’s on the final exam?

What is considered an “A” on the final exam? Is it strictly by percent correct on the exam (at least 90%) or is it determined by the top however many scorers on the exam (for example, top 30% test-takers get A’s on the final exam)?

I implied this in the previous questions, but is there any sort of curve? Is it pretty generous?

Has anybody taken this course with Professor Haskell? If so, how are the in-class assignments, homework assignments, and quizzes? Are students in Haskell’s MATH-118 class allowed a “cheat sheet” per midterm?

Any feedback regarding this would be GREATLY appreciated. I ask such questions because a common thing I have heard about 118 is that people don’t really know their grades until they show up on OASIS after the semester is over.
