I saw online that the bookstore sells the 2011 published edition for the Math17 Series starting this year, but I have found 2010 editions of the same book for cheaper. Are there a lot of differences between the two? Would a 2010 published edition be usable for the class? I heard that there are often a lot of differences between different editions such as different numbers in the problems and different page numbers. Is this true? Help please.

I’m taking 17B too next quarter and I have the 3rd edition old one (I think). But anyways it shouldn’t be any different because they really just switch up the chapters and slap on a new edition. That’s how they rob college students =]. And considering you’re taking 17B next quarter, you may have Daddel or Kouba. Both teachers have optional homework, except Daddel has his hw as extra credit. And if you have Kouba, even better, he scans the textbook so you can use that instead of a textbook. My roommate did that the whole year. Never cracked open his textbook that cost nearly $200. =P

Same with Benham, he scans all the HW from every chapter and loads it online.
