I was thinking of minoring in either Math or Statistics, which involves at least Multivariable-level math.

I'm not taking any math this year. I scored 5's on the Calc BC and Statistics exams, so I could just place out into the higher levels of math and statistics next year.

But I'm worried that the concepts will seem very foreign to me after not taking math or statistics for so long. The last time I took statistics was when I was a junior in high school, and I haven't done calculus since I graduated high school (I'm currently a college freshman).

Should I retake the basic statistics courses and math courses, or will all the concepts come back to me once I get started in the higher courses?

I took statistics when I was 19. I took upper-level statistics when I was 22 and 23. It’s not difficult to relearn very quickly given some motivation.

I think all you really need to remember from Calculus II is integration by parts. I came across improper integrals in my mathematical physics class once, but that’s it. A good foundation in Calculus II is necessary I’d say for Differential Equations, but you don’t need to remember everything. It won’t be that hard to catch up.

Take a look at the final exams for frosh calculus at your college. See if, perhaps with a bit of review, you are capable of solving the problems on them.

Don’t worry about HS level statistics, you don’t really need it if you’re doing a statistics major. AP Stats is more important for someone who isn’t planning a mathematically based degree and just needs to get out of a math gened requirement.
