Does anyone here know how many math problems are needed to qualify for math camps like HCSSIM, SUMAC, mathcamp, PROMYS, ROSS?
What’s the acceptance rate and the level of difficulty for each of them?
Thanks.

no one knows for sure. all are prestigious and hard to get into.
All the programs that you listed are very prestigious and hard to get into. My friends, both of whom had attended SUMaC, had solved all the problems on the SUMaC problem set. I too had solved all the problems(gave multiple solutions for a few questions), but I still got rejected. I would say that definitely the problem set matters the most for admission to these math camps, so try to solve all the problem that are given to you because most of the people who will be accepted would have solved all the problems. But at the same time, don’t neglect the essays and stuff. Great work on the problem set + good essays would make you a great applicant(provided your school grades and stuff are good).
