These are the options I have, for career in IB

Math and Econ Minor - 3 years
Math and Econ Major - 3.5 years
Math and Business Minor - 3 years
Math and Computer Minor - 3 years.

I am just about to complete my 2nd year in college, and I am about done with my math major, but haven't taken much in Econ or Business. I may or may not go to Grad School, getting a job is the first priority.

I would appreciate any of your replies.

Thanks

Taking Econ/Accounting classes and understanding the basics from an academic standpoint = important.

Finishing a minor/double major = not important.

Do what will a) get you the best GPA b) will allow you to take the most classes that will help you (Intro to Business Management will not help, Intro to Financial Accounting will, etc).

If you can maintain a solid GPA, I would definitely go with the double major and couple that with some solid accounting courses as an accounting and finance background will definitely help you to stand out and demonstrate your analytical ability (assuming, again, that you can maintain a high GPA). Since you’ll be graduating ahead of 4 years in either case, I would recommend taking the extra semester to give yourself the previous summer to intern for an IB - whether boutique, MM or BB, thereby making you far more appealing to FT positions while building your academic credentials.

Especially if you are at a non-target school, having a strong analytical background will definitely help you on your path (but definitely keep the GPA up).

PM me if you have any other questions and good luck.
