If A is the sum of integers from 1-50 and B is the sum of integers from 51 to 100. then what is the value of B-A?

51 - 1 + 52 - 2 + 53 - 3 + . . . + 100 - 50

= 50 + 50 + 50 + … + 50

=50(50)

=2500

thanks, that really helped.

If anyopne has the blue book could they do problem 19 on page 523?

I keep getting it wrong!! Thanks :)

Wowie //

The triangle is equilateral, so all sides are 2.
The diameter is a perpendicular bisector, because it makes a right angle.

So you can assume that WZ is 1
And using the 30:60:90 rule, you can assume that WY is √3
Now, you just use A=πr^2

A = πr^2
= π(√3/2)^2
= 3π/4
