How bad is a 780 on the Math II for CMU engineering admissions? I know it goes down to the 70-something percentile when scores drop to a 790 or a 780, but I’d rather focus my time on my senior grades than preparing for another subject test.
For the math portion of the SAT 1, CMU’s engineering college has a 25th-75th percentile of 740-790 (compared to the school of computer science, which is 770-800, same as MIT). They don’t publish statistics for the subject tests, as far as I can find, but I would interpret this data to mean that it’s fine if your math scores aren’t quite perfect.
