MATH IIc vs Ic

so i'm applying for high end colleges like upenn--> harvard etc.

but i really suck at math i got a 680 on math Ic and i'm planning on getting like a 600 or some on IIc. i coulddo better on Ic . but i dont know which one i should take again

I hear Math IIC is easier and has a juicier curve... but I haven't taken it, so don't count on me.

Math IIC is the harder one material wise (well, at least that's what most preparation books say), but IC's curve is far harsher. 46 Raw score will still translate to 800 in IIC, but in IC, you practically have to have EVERY single answer in the test correct.

I heard that Math IIC was easier, although that seems counterintuitive. I guess it's the curve, but it won't make a difference if you're doing really bad, will it? I think IIC definitely looks better esp. if you're majoring in the sciences/maths. If you're in the humanities section though, concentrate on those.

if you are up to date on the material for both tests, IIC is way easier to get a good score on. IC is more according to raw score. i got 750, 97th percentile on IC, and 800, 90th percentile on IIC... use logic. but if you dont want to study everything for the IIC, i recommend making sure you are good at the math, and immune to minor mistakes, because one wrong answer on the IC takes away the perfect score (if thats what u r loooking for). whereas in IIC you must know more but you can afford to miss a few questions and still get 800. if u r still undecided, i would recommend iic because it is the normal one that students will take for math satII credit, and it shows you know more advanced math

i was just SO stupid and am taking it the year after. after i forgot ALl the trig

IIC requires pre-calc + trig...so, the material is harder. But, as others have said, the curve is much easier.

My advice is to take a practice test for BOTH IIC and IC.
