Math Level III

We go, for normal smart kids:

9th: Geometry
10th: Algebra 2
11th: Pre-Calc/Trigonometry
12th: AP Calculus AB

I'm a year ahead, so I'm self-studying BC and Stats this year.

At my school, the various math roads are:
1) Highest (what I went through)
-9th math A
-10th math B
-11th Precalc Honors
-12th Calc BC

2) Almost as good:
-9th math A
-10th math B
-11th normal precalc
-12th Calc AB

3) Meh:
-9th Math A
-10th Math A continued and math B
-11th Rest of Math B
-12th Normal or Honors Precalc or AP Stats

4) Don't make plans to major in math
I'm not actually sure, but by senior year these people are either taking Advanced Algebra, Discrete Math (whatever that is) or no math at all.

I'm with Anhtimmy- umm, no.

^why?

10char

Because then students to hyper-competitive colleges will start taking Math III in order to get a leg up. Math III will then become expected for applicants to HYPS and other top schools, leaving us poor right brained people in the dust.

Exactly why a Harvard dean is trying to take out the SAT

Awww...all our talk about sexy integrals and derivatives was deleted...what a shame.

for our "gifted"<---ha kids we had
6th algebra 1
7th/8th MEGGSS (new age math or something...)
9th Freshman Accelerated (geometry, trig and alg 2)
10th precalc/calc A
11th Calc BC
12th Multivariable/linear algebra/non-euclidean...

dang, daman11, what an awesome path. i would like to take multivariable/linear algebra in 12th grade!

Ah Daman11.. I wish I could have taken alg 1 in 6th grade.

My path was:
7th-Alg1
8th-Alg2
9th-geo
10th-precalc
11th-calc AB (school does not offer BC)
12th-ap stat, self study BC

eh in my school, the average kid does Alg1, geo, Alg2, Precalc 9th 10th 11th 12th respectively. The above average kids do Alg1, geo and alg2 in same year, precalc or IB, Calc (AB or BC) or IB, 9th 10th 11th 12th respectively.

NY has a retarded regents system with only 5 people who get 100s on the Math B.
Anyways, an advanced kid would take
8th: Math A
9th: Math A/B
10th: Math B
11th: Precalc Honors
12th: Calc BC or Calc AB or Stat AP or none if u are just inherently lazy
