I don't want to ruin the honor code, so correct me if I this isn't allowed, but I have taken many math classes as dual enrollment in high school and covered all of the CORE math classes. However, I do not know what info is needed in the classes at Caltech. Is there any way to know what I need to review for the advanced placement tests? I don't have any of my books anymore, also. Are you supposed to review for advanced placement tests? Thanks.

I did a few practice problems from my old test prep book, then I just jumped in and took it - I assumed that extensive studying would be a bad idea because you might place higher than you should. I guess just try to represent your abilities the best you can, which for me wasn’t by cramming. It was helpful to do a couple problems just to remember the notations (personally, I haven’t taken calculus in a couple years, but you probably don’t have that problem…)

I’m not asking so I can cram everything. For example, linear algebra: I took it before junior year. I use it all the time in the classes I took for the past two years, but I don’t think I could pull a linear proof out of butt without going back and doing a few just to be reminded.

I really do not want to have to take these classes again unless I really need to. At USF I am at the graduate curriculum now and I really want to continue my education when I get to Caltech, not take 2 years of review.

So just some refresher problems is what I am looking for.

The best place to look is at the corresponding course websites: for example, for linear algebra
[[Ma1b Analytical - Winter 09-10] - Linear Algebra](http://math.caltech.edu/classes/ma1b-An/index.html)

If you can do (most) of the HW problems you should probably place out (and in my somewhat antiquated experience, cramming for one subject during the summer is a more efficient way of learning than going to 5 classes at Caltech, so place out of everything you can…)
