Is math placement test for college courses difficult? I mean, is it full of integrals, derivatives, and critical numbers?

The one I took (the COMPASS test) started out basic, then got progressively harder depending on your scores. If you kept answering consistently correct, it rose level by level. If you answered wrong, it would go lower into more basic math.

I also took the COMPASS test and I have to say the same, the more you answer correct it gets to higher and higher levels of math. That is how it determines your math placement.

Umich’s is a joke but i think it was their own

Mine was a joke too. At my school unless you completely failed the placement test they put you in the calculus class that was appropriate for your major (They have business calc, Life sciences, Physical sciences/engineering, etc). The one I took had 2 simple (well, to me) derivative problems in it just to see if you had ever even taken calc before. A lot of it was algebra and trig.
