Math Question

I was wondering if someone could help me with this math problem in my KAPLAN SAT book.

A wooden cube with a volume 64 is sliced in half horizontally. The two halves are then glued together to form a rectangular solid which is not a cube. What is the surface area of this new solid.

A) 48
B) 56
C) 96
D) 112
E) 128

I'm bad at math <:

The volume of a cube is xxx (i.e. x cubed), where x is the length=depth=height of the cube. So x is 4 (444 = 64).

The surface area of a rectangular solid is the sum of the areas of the sides. There are 6 sides. Two of them are 82, two are 84, and 2 are 4*2 – so 112.

thank you. geometry is my worst.
