Then look which of the answers give you 2800. A is the only one.
If the word “percent” appears in a problem, the easiest number to choose is almost always 100 (the word percent means “out of 100” after all).
In this case, if you choose k = 100, then 100% of 28,000 is 28,000.
Substitute 100 for k into each answer choice and you will see that only choice (A) comes out to 28,000.
