Max transfer credits

From their website:

"Keep in mind that most UC campuses admit a limited number of lower division transfer students. This means that, in most cases, you should plan on completing at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units before you transfer. In addition, most campuses don’t admit students with 90 semester (135 quarter) units or more. "

At this time, I have 76 credits. On May 5th i’ll have 86, and if I count the Organic II course I set up to take this summer i’ll have a total of 90 credits by the time I transfer.

I noted on my application that I intended to take the summer course in Organic so that i’d be better prepared, but maybe I should not have noted that? Should I change my intended courses and exclude this class and not take it if admitted? Or, is it better to leave it alone and not make changes on myberkeleyapp at this point? If i’m right at the border, 90 credit hours, will that be the do or die number? Or, would they rather me come in with Organic II completed?

I applied to a double major in Chem Engineering and Materials Science as an out-of-state community college transfer. I don’t know what kind of chance I have to get in, but i’d hate for this to be the make it or break it. What do you guys think? Should I call or e-mail admissions and ask?

Thanks.

the maxmimum number of credits to be transferred is 70. So what i THINK happens is that at the orientation, you choose what classes you want to be in the 70 unit max. If I'm wrong, let me know.

That would work, I'm sure you get subject credit either way. But, it seemed to me that the statement about not admitting students with more than 90 credit hours seemed to say that the weren't going to bother with you, not that they simply weren't transferring that many hours.
