Dartmouth was 3 for me applying for the 2010 class. (06 high school grad)

Sheesh what's with all this retaking 750+ scores?

US History - 790
Chemistry - 760
Literature - 730

(Previous test)
Math II - 800
Chinese - 740 (haha 18th percentile...but not retaking)

I'm content. And DONE. With SAT anyways

800 spanish
730 math I :] (thought i got like a 680)

Why do people take more than 3 SAT IIs? Is it for placement purposes in college, perhaps in place of APs?

I'm sorry but once and for all you guys are insane for complaining about anything 700+, especially 750+. Colleges are not going to deny you for having 93% of your answers correct instead of 99%. Worry about other stuff!!!!

Hey guys. Are USA's students as same as like you? I think, i won't be admitted to US universities if they get a score like you

620 USH

dies ;_;

750 Literature
790 US History

(proud mom here)

USH: 800
Physics: 780

i was expecting that physics score because i really didnt study too hard for it. in fact, i didnt know i could not use a calculator until just before the test. i guess i am satisfied.

now to retake my depresssingly low SAT I score and satii bio score.
funny what happened. i thought i was way more prepared last year for bio and got a 750 =(

Students, I don't understand why some of you are insisting on retaking SAT II's when you get over 700 in them. If you're MIT-headed & science-or math-majoring, and maybe want to bump up one test, maybe. But really, I don't see even the need for that.

I think my D took 4 or 5 Subject Tests. In only 2 of them did she score above 700 (& never 800 on the Subjects). She scored in the high 600's on the others. Yet she got into every Elite school she applied to.

epiphany,
If you don't mind my asking, why did your d. take so many subject tests? From what I can find, unless you are using them for placement purposes, most schools seem to need no more than 3. I am not meaning at all to sound critical-- I am wanting to understand if there is a reason to encourage my s to take more.

You know, honestly, I don't know that we approached this with much rational thought, LOL. (Meaning, I agree with you!) Also not well-advised by the school's college counselor. She was applying to both publics & privates: perhaps that was part of it. But mostly, I think she was not sure what to expect, score-wise, and didn't know what would be "acceptable" to various demanding colleges, so she took extra tests. (I see some other CC students do that, too.)

This will not be true for D#2. Is limiting tests to what is required, & luckily none of those choices will require more than 2 Subject Tests. She already has above a 700 in one subject test, and I know she will not re-take it. Waste of time & money, imo.

Where did she get in, epiphany? You mentioned that she got into every Elite school she applied to. Also, were her SAT I scores really high? That makes up for lower SAT II scores, I believe.

Your scores may be up even though you see amessage that says to check back on May 30th. My D went through the same thing - basically, you log onto your CB account and go to the "My Status" section; click on "Registrations Completed" Hopefully your scores will be there - they were for my D. Good luck!!!!

Just to add what dandemom just posted, sometimes you have to poke around the CB site a little. Even when I logged in this a.m., it didn't indicate initially that her scores were up, when you click on one of the "score" links (Get & Send, I think): that just listed the registered tests for us. When I went back into Organizer or something, there was a message that said, "______, your scores are ready," and that was linked.

Aquamarinee, I'll PM you. But I wanted to add for the rest of you that my D's classmates also (to my knowledge) did not get 800 on any of the Subject tests & they also did quite well in "elite" admissions, with a range of impressive schools (Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc.)

Anyone find the percentile scores that go with the SAT score??

those come on june 2

Thanks, epiphany :)

800 math 2
720 chemistry

790 USH

taking chem and mathII next week!
