May 2008 US History

i was thinking the 2/3 answer choice also but (im not sure) but in the hartford convention they wanted a 2/3 vote of both houses to go to war so i ruled that out. (correct me if im wrong)

the question that referred to the federalist party was worded something like this "the election of who ended the 10 year reign of the federalist party"

TJ ended it logically... from 1789-1800 = about 10 years.

if the ? was worded that way im pretty sure i would have said TJ but i said Monroe...idk if i was ready too fast but i thought it said something along the lines of when the federalist party ended

No, it asked who ended the "10 Year Reign" (or something like that) of the federalist party.

That question used the word "decade"...I remember it...the answer was Jefferson (he continued the "Va. dynasty" - GWashington, TJefferson, JMadison, JMonroe).

No, the question was like "The Federalist ERA ended with the start of whose presidency?"

no im 100% sure it said DECADE

Hmm cmon guys lol.. It said decade and it is Jefferson.. the revolution of 1800

what about the ? about the election of 1860. i put down that lincoln only carried the north, but i now know that's wrong, but the issue wasn't slavery, it was states rights (another answer choice), and lincoln DID carry the majority of the electoral vote (another answer choice). and i'm pretty sure the other two answer choices were bad as well.

any thoughts?

I also put carried the North (because he wasn't even on the southern ballot)...but then again, he could have received votes from the west, so....idk

he took cali and oregon soi thatws why i'm pretty sure i'm wrong

I remember putting that too because none of the other answers made ANY sense. It was the BEST answer....and anyways...I think it was just trying to get at the whole issue with Lincoln not even being on some southern ballots.

I put carried the North as well but its a shady question in terms of clear cut answer for me

yeah i put he only carried the north--cause the question could also refer to the fact that he attained all the northern states, while took only a few western states. We can't say he also "carried" the west.

I think carrying the north is the right answer - my 2 cents though

I am just curious, partly because im nervous about how I did...did anyone else think that there were multiple questions where the answers were A)worded in really weird ways, and B)none of the choices made all that much sense?>??

wow this thread has over 11,000 views haha.

well. i think the questions were so specific so that it was either easy for you because you knew it or hard because you didn't know it. The questions were so specific! I was really surprised, but then again, my teacher didn't cover the last 50 years of history with us and we have the AP this friday. :(

50 years doesn't seem so bad...on May 3rd, I was on the 1920s.

lol... I think I got 6 wrong so 800 hopefully.. crossing fingers
