May, 2010 Commencement Speaker

Brian Williams, NBC news.

We are counting the days...

Thank God. Brian Williams is an intelligent and well respected newscaster, and not the intractably conservative and boring speaker that I think everyone was anticipating after the controversy around Barack’s visit last year. Good work, ND.

Sarah Palin wasn’t available? Just asking. And congrats to your son and you ND AL.

“Brian Williams is an intelligent and well respected newscaster”, uh? he did not even graduate from college.

College Checker-his credentials indicate he is a grad of George Washington U and further Catholic U. ???

he attended both GW and Catholic U but did not graduate from either…check wikipedia. I read this before that he had not graduated from college. You would have thought he could have just take a course a semester and somehow got his degree.

^Well he has enough honorary degrees to cover it.

Thanks for clarifying CollegeChecker! We are still counting the days (sad to see our student leave; ready for graduation, however, off the payroll for our student!). I imagine the commencement speech will be somewhat fatherly (if that makes sense) as I believe Mr. Williams has a daughter at Duke about the same age as graduating seniors. Hopefully, there will be no controversy over this choice!

Your defense for incorrect information is that wikipedia said you are right?

Brian Wiliams does not have a college degree. There are other sources on this and comments by him that he wished he had completed a degree.
