<p>The car checked, you needed to insert an “I” so the answer it was like [he insisted that] I have my car checked.</p>

<p>No, he would not insist general advice for himself. he insists as a general rule, or to his son. since it says “before buying a used car” he is instructing his son to get it checked or making a broad statement. the general one didn’t work with any other choices, so it had to be I</p>
