MAY 2013 PHYSICS THREAD (question pool)

Yeah sure thing! The solenoid one was this: http://www.utc.edu/Faculty/Tatiana-Allen/Magfig3.gif

I think I either put 3/4 or 4/3 for the ratio of lights…
I don’t remember 0.75… sry

3/4 = 0.75

yeah I forget if I put 3/4 or 4/3 as well.

hm so for “best supports wave nature of light” i said it was young’s slit experiment, not diffraction.

edit: oops, never mind, they’re pretty much the same thing

Do you remember an answer of 8/7 anywhere?

I put 4/3, was it supposed to be 3/4? I don’t know if I got an 800 now

I’m not sure since I don’t remember which question went with which…I also am not sure because I have 10 wrong so far, not including this one if I’m wrong. How lenient do you think the curve will be?

wlsnehf, great job on compiling and remembering all those questions.

Can anyone right besides those questions all the answers? Some of them don’t have the answer beside it and I can’t remember the questions distinctly enough to remember if I got them right or wrong. Thanks

I don’t know what the curve will be, hopefully raw of less than 60. I skipped 4, and it looks like I have up to 5 wrong so far, so hopefully it’s nice. I just re did the math, it seems that it may be 3/4 …v1/v2 = n2/n1

What was the highest raw score required for 800? The conversion table in the Blue Book seems too lenient…

I don’t think I will even GET an 800. :(

So does anyone remember an 8/7 or 8f/7 or something anywhere? Or was that a wrong answer…

@kmb987: Describe the question…I don’t remember any answers like that!

Unfortunately I can’t remember which question it was, I’m pretty sure 7/8 was another option though.

I’m pretty 8/7, 7/8 are wrong answers to the snells law question. The real answer was eithe 3/4 or 4/3 I think

I think its like 65/75 raw for an 800.

That’s an insanely harsh curve…

oh oh wait if anyone is still reading this thread, i think there was also a question about balls being charged or something. Like, two balls are next to each other and there is a negative charge to the left and then the charge is taken away and a ball is taken away or something like that (I skipped the question)

Guys honestly don’t panic about what the curve is gonna be and just wait for scores. If the test was harder than normal, the curve will be better than normal. When I took math 2 last year I was about to cancel my scores and wound up with an 800.

@solipsisme I can’t remember exactly what I put for that one but it was something along the lines of them attracting and then excess charge pouring over and them having the same charge and repelling after they touch. That answer may have been from a practice test though my memory of the test is kind of hazy at this point.

@solipsisme
I didn’t take the test but i was practicing for AP and there a question that was similar except that there was a positive charge to the left and the net charge on the first sphere was negative. Hope that helps…
