May 7, 2005 NEW SAT - OFFICIAL THREAD

yep, it was bowdlerized. I checked in the dictionary right after, lucky guess. vituperative was out, and it wasn't obfuscatory either.

3 x 10 = 30
9 x 3 does = 27...... BUT 9 in front 18 in back plus 1 = 28

I had redolent and waft as well. I know there were harder ones, but I'm struggling to remember.

honeyhazel02,
what was the strange french word? do you recall?

yo thedude, we had the same passages...if you remember any questions, i'll try to answer them

Haha and that "french word" was risque. It means sexual content, basically.

dazedandconfused88, obviously you don't remember, but the problem specifically said that the total number of people in the line was 3*x....forget about counting Juan.

victor, so our experimental was the one on congo? Meaning it doesn't count towards the score, am i right?

what reading passages did you guys get? I had an african music passage, a jonas salk passage, and a two author passage about william bligh and the hms bounty.

I got the same passages. I found the reading section, Ok, some parts were hard and some parts (Africa) was easy.

The math and writing were really easy to me, especially the math. I heard so many coming out the test center complaining about the math? This was probably the strongest section for me.

But, the critical reading section sucked big time. :-/

Does anyone remember the question to which "licentious" was Choice A (but not the answer)?

I hope it was the science fiction one...

magisterial i answered for one... something about a guy talking affecting intelligence?

Oh, right. Yeah, I put magisterial also, but it was a guess.

i think i just bombed on verbal.. =[

Here are some answers I got for the africa passage

Africa passage
He was stressing the need to be flexible
He mentioned the solo african music players to show a possible source of african influence on jazz???
Something about a historical enigma
broad means general
the tapes represent the difficulties in the nature of his work.
something about a turing point in his study
overall intent was to provide insight into the thoughts of a researcher.

woo, and if the experimental was on the Congo, I bombed on verbal too.

what were the other answers in which magisterial was one of them?

and what was the one with fortuitous in it.. i dont think i put fortuitous but that was a choice

hmm maybe this would be easier if we split into two threads, one for each form?

was the sceice fiction one the same one as the duck-rabbit illusion?
