May SAT 2011: CR Section

relentless force… ah darn it i guess i got the reverent one wrong then

The black singer one had me totally confused but other than that the rest of the CR reading was ok. The whale one was really easy, hope it wasn’t exp. The one about cave paintings was kind of hard,I got really confused over the ones that were like “Gunthries (passage 2) would most likely react this way to this sentance.”

oh yeah, on a CR question was one of the vocab unperturable something? i just recall that other words involved in that question were unflappable, capricious, etc.

and for the last question on the concert one, is it E? it asked what does the sentence “no one … endless ground”, E was “the inclusiveness of society” or something

wooocollege…yes! I had inclusiveness of society. I found the black person singer passage **** **** easy for some reason…the cave paintings was on another level

do you remember about the corrupt minister?
there was castigated… mis…(something)
and censured… voracious

I foolishly put the second (it was probably C)
now I think it’s A (castigated)

I put sympathetic

i think it was A im pretty sure voracious just means hungry…

For the corrupt minister I think I put denounced…and then something else.

I definitely had castigated cause I remember putting that over voracious

Crap i don’t think i put that for the minister one…but i’d have to look at all the choices and the full sentence.

was that the same question where disseminated was an answer choice? I think I either put that or nearly put that

anyone remember the one that was about whales and it was reffering lines and it was about how studying whales was similiar to poetry and sonnets???

Does anyone remember what the question said where the choices were “mawkish” “opulent” and other stuff? I put opulent, but my friend put mawkish. I think I read the question wrong. I don’t recall anything about it being sentimental, which is what mawkish means.

@qwerty it is mawkish
@ business appreciating the difficulty/limitations? i think it was E

does anyone remember the question on whales where they described the window-sized keyhole and that “bursts and smokes were made”? I think it asked what that quote indicated. was it that a great effort was being made to find out more about whales?

I think the answer was A, but I put E which was Denounced, etc. the second word for censure was actually vicarious I think.

im pretty sure it was mawkish but i can gurantee it wasn’t opulent

Regarding these discussions on specific words and qns., has the SAT started in all time zones, including, eg. in Hawaii?

@prattennis, yea i put that too, the vigorus effort behind solving the case or w/e
