May SAT 2011: Math Section

n = -5

1/(-5 + 1) = -1/4 < -1/25

That had to be 1/n+1

@Xithekingix i agree, the answer was totally A, -1/n2

The answer was 1/n+1. Thanks for reminding me what the question was. Substitute -10 for “n” (since n<0 or something). Which is smaller, -1/100, or -1/9

i dont remember the k=8 question, and i had experimental math, do they have different experimental sections? or just one?

So does anyone remember one with a w and y and x and it ended up being x-x?

^ you just had to multiply and square them. you mean the one where x=3y and w=3 right? i spent 5 minutes trying to figure that out and it was the freaking 2nd question @_@

edit: k nevermind i must have got it wrong then haha

^ yes, it was 0
i think it was 3y-3y tho

Xitheking, i thought thats what they were talking about for the K value… i honestly don’t remember that one… gah.

and yeah the 1/n thing is A. dam only 1 MC wrong so far that i know of and possibly the 165 consec(?) prime? god

w=3 x=3y

solve x-wy

(3y)-(3)y

Damn I failed at logic on that one sadface gif.

Is the one where the answer was -1/(n^2 +1) the same question as is being referred to above? Cause I swear that (E) was an answer to one of the last problems.

please tell me that the CR experimental was section 2. please.

n <=-2
1/n –> 1/-2= -.5
1/n^2 –> 1/2 = .5 (since youre squaring n, it will give you a positive answer, therefore making it not the least

but

1/n+1 –> 1/(-2)+1 –> 1/-1 = -1
so the answer is 1/n+1

for the question that asked for all n odd integers to be subtracted by all n even integers, was the solution n (B)?

was the logic question in the experimental section? The one that went

if it is nice outsidie, allie goes to the beach

I)…
II)…
III)…

I think i chose I and II.

i had experimental math and didnt get a logic question…? so i guess they have multiple experimental sections?

wait how do you guys know which of your sections was experimental? sorry for the dumb question

this is a writing question:
i think it was section 10 that it was in, question 11 or 13:
it was about this girl who was worried if everything would fit in her suitcase or something and all the answer choices were in different tenses - perfect (present, past, indicative…who knows)
i ended up saying C…i dont remember what the acctual choice was.
anyone else?

Ya I messed up epicly on that one I failed at the n<=-2 part lolol

false qwerty… it was -(1/n^2). If you have -3,square it and you get a very small positive number. and then the negative sign makes it negative… its number sense.
