May SAT 2011: Math Section

^^ for that one i got 3,5, and 11. 165 for n. Not sure if it’s right.

@jetfan: i’m pretty sure I got 0, because 0*b = 0.

@impatient: I think I got 3511, since 3+5+11 = 19, a prime #.

Yeah the mx+b one was 0.

@bandgeek yea i got that too but where do u fill in the 0? lol i just put 0 in the fill in but i didnt see a bubble for 0. crap did i miss it???

if you set up the equation, you have 9.6=zx+yz where z is the pounds of beef bought, x is the cost per pound of beef, y is the pounds of coffee, and z is the cost per pound of coffee. We can assume there were 3 pounds of beef bought and 1 pound of coffee bought. and the cost per pound of beef is half of the cost per pound of coffee. So the new equation is 9.6= (3/2)z +z. Solving for z yields 3.84 and since there was only 1 pound of coffee, the total cost for coffee is 3.84

@jetfan 0 can be filled in all the way to the right.

i’m pretty sure there was a 0 there, lol.

ugh i didnt see a 0 in the fill in on the first one so i assumed you couldnt get 0. so i will get that wrong even though i wrote 0

what was the letter for the correct answer to problem 15 in the 16-question section? does anyone remember?

For the quadrant one, was it 0 or 1/4?

I got 0 for quadrant because quad II has a negative in the x. Could be wrong.

@zposture: was that the one about the y=a(x-c)+k?

I think I put B for that one. probably got that wrong too ._.

it was f(0)=-5. a and k are positive and even if (x-h) is negative, the value is squared so you can’t get a negative value.

Does anyone remember the answer to the grid in with a circle and the midpoint has a y value of 7?

I got 14 for the y value.

Hm… I got 1/4 for the quadrant one… I’m not sure how you guys are getting 0 o.o, unless I read the question wrong?

@cortana: was there another choice similar to that, that was like “f(0)=5”?

Does anyone remember the question that u had to find the y value. the x value was 3 and it looked too far away so i put 1. also that 100 pie question, anyone know? dont remember that one.

@bandgeek yep there were f(0)=5 and f(0)=-5

i also got 14 for the y value

Also, what did you get for the one with three triangles with angles of 70 deg? You had to find x+y+z.

I think I got 240 degrees on that one
