Hello all,
I just graduated from university with BS degree in management . Now , I’m planing to attend graduate school. Iwas wondering what are your guys thoughts on either University of La Verne , University of Redlands, Cal Lutheran University and golden gate university for MBA program. And if you were me which one would you choose ? I’m not worried about the tuition price tags as much as the value of the degree and how my future employer would recognize my degree from any of these schools . Please let me know , especially to those who are in the business field. Thanks
In general, those schools you mentioned are not worth going full time for. Since they are private schools, the costs are very high. Unless you employer is paying for the costs for you to attend part time or you are attending a niche program such as tax, you will not be very marketable because, in general, employers will not pay you a market salary for an MBA from those schools. There are far many MBA’s from much more reputable schools that are marketable than the schools you mentioned.
I agree that the more selective the MBA program the greater the chance employers will value (in terms of job level and/or salary) the degree. You might consider working for a few years----jobs are plentiful in today’s market and many MBA programs want students to have real world experience as it leads to meatier and more real discussion in classes.
If you do choose to pursue an MBA full-time you have to weigh the tuition costs, the likelihood and degree of payoff (better and/or higher paying job, etc.), as well as the lost wages and lost possibility of promotion during the time you are in school. IMO the schools on your list may not have a positive return when assessing those factors. Attending a part-time program while working can be an attractive option, sometimes companies help pay tuition, but if not, at least you are making money and gaining experience while taking classes.
Yeah I have a job and I’m planning to attend part time. Like I said money is not an issue I was just asking about future employment in case I want to change my job

What you mean niche program such as Tax? Do You mean MBA with Tax specialization ?

@Roro2020 That Question was already answered: none of them are worth the money.
By niche program such as Tax, I mean a MBA in Tax or a Masters in Taxation. Large accounting firms, such as the Big 4, recruit from GGU to fill tax staff openings in their tax departments. You’ll need a high GPA to get an offer from a Big 4 accounting firm.
Agree with @UCBUSCalum that niche programs in tax & data analytics are worthwhile.
GGU is the best among the four schools that you have listed. But GGU is really only respected by top employers for tax & taxation. Worthwhile for those studying tax–especially if you want to live & practice in California due to the course offerings.
