MCAT, nowhere to be found on the Internet

Hey,

If you look for SAT review material, you get so much info and so many practice questions. But why is it that when you try to look for practice questions, other than the E-mcat website, you basically cannot find any practice passages from the MCAT on websites.

1.)Also, for those people who have ravaged every bookstore for MCAT material, other than the Kaplan course, what are the best books for the MCAT???

2.) Are there any subject-targeted books. What I mean is that for SAT, they made specific "Math SAT Workbooks"...Do they make books such as "Chemistry MCAT passages" ??

3.) For Physics, do you think the MCAT level is that of Haliday and Resnick, or basically a very conceptual SAT II: Physics type of level?

Thanks.

That has the info you need. Yes, the practice materials provided by AAMC is very slim and consists of just 9 practice tests all of which you must purchase individually. They are also made available to you if you take an MCAT course such as kaplan.

1) I didnt ravage any bookstores when i was taking the mcat, i took the kaplan course and did all of the materials they provided...they give you so much its hard to run out. I heard exam crackers is good as well and apparently princeton review sucks.

2) yes there are subject books which would mainly be divided by the three sections of the mcat

3) The Haliday, Resnick and Walker textbook is TERRIBLE, but yes, the mcat does not go beyond the material in there. I never took the SAT II Physics so dont know how it compares.

Yeah, there really isn't too much useful info on the web about the MCAT besides whatever is on the MCAt website.

But there are a lot of books out there. I found the examkrackers books to be best. They have separate books for chem, organic chem, bio, physics, and verbal. (Their verbal book wasn't good.) They also have books w/ just parctice questions too. The Kaplan books are also good. There is also the Princeton Review books. And of course, u can always take a prep course w/ these companies too. There are also books by Barrons, Petersons, and other companies. But most of these aren't good.

Good luck studying for the test.
