McGill Admissions for Arts/Management

Is a conditional offer from McGill Arts/Management feasible with only 7 Average (A-D) GCSEs (with A in Maths), 3 AS and Triple-A (A-Level) Prediction?
Realistically speaking, looking beyond the stated “Minimum” Requirements

Thanks

The minimum requirements are required. If you do not meet them you will not be admitted, period.

Note the “Realistically speaking, look beyond the stated Minimum Requirements”

I had posted this for a realistic response,
Not a theoretical one, aimed at those that have experience/knowledge with McGill/Canadian Universities and A-Levels/GCSE.

There is nothing theoretical about a requirement. If you do not meet the requirement, you will not be granted admission.

I think there is a communication gap here. If McGill never varies from their stated minimum, then @TomSrOfBoston is perfectly correct. That seems clear enough.

So I think what you are asking is “Does McGill ever make exceptions to the stated requirement?”, right? If so, the way I just stated it is a lot clearer than your phrasing. One cannot “look beyond” the minimum if one doesn’t know if McGill is flexible about it. Or more precisely, there is little sense in doing so.

I personally have no idea about McGill in relation to this matter. Perhaps some CC member does, or maybe McGill admissions will be frank with you and tell you if any of last year’s class was admitted despite not meeting that requirement.

Thank you for your answer.

You were along the right lines, but essentially I have met the minimum requirements of 5 GCSEs and the Minimum admission from the previous year of AAB predicted. However the reason for posting this question was the see whether there had been any other students who had met these requirements, or who know people who have, and have gotten along the same lines of GCSE and had/hadn’t gotten accepted.

Whilst I am comfortable with the A-Levels, it is mainly the GCSEs that I am concerned about. Do Canadian Universities look strongly at GCSEs? Would the grades I have listed for GCSE be still too low, despite meeting the absolute minimum.

As of course, not all universities accept those that perfectly meet the requirements. Hence my “Realistically Speaking, looking beyond the stated minimum”
