You were so well qualified, I don’t know why the waiting was so long. AP scores are not considered for admissions tho for Mcgill, right? I thought they only want it after u are admitted. I haven’t sent mine… should I have sent them?
@yunakim123 I just wrote them while filling out my test scores within the applications, I didn’t formally send them. I’m not sure what they take into account and what they don’t. I called them earlier this week though and they said they were doing their best to release all decisions by the end of the month so that American students would be able to meet the May 1 deadline for committing. Hopefully you’ll hear soon!! It was my school’s fault (at least partially) that I didn’t hear back sooner. McGill requested first semester grades from me in December but our first semester didn’t end until around February 20, and then my school took a week to send my grades.
Has anyone received a rejection yet? Also on RDP. If it’s going to be a rejection I wish they’d just get on with it. I have been checking Minerva every day for 3 months.
@ORRZ40 hey! I was just accepted a week ago and I know how agonizing it is that they’re taking so long.
You could try calling them and asking. My decision came out the day after I called
my D has been RDP for the past 2 months. Is there a chance ?
I’ve been on rdp for 3 months as well, I applied for engineering early october and sent in mid term grades early january. According to the mcgill website, our applications are just hanging between accepted and rejected, which I don’t really like…
"We have received all the necessary documents.
In the initial review your application was deemed more competitive than those already refused were but less competitive than those already admitted. That places your application in the “grey zone”. Gradually during the cycle, as we fill the spaces in each program the “grey zone” will shrink and the final admission threshold will be determined.
At this time, there is little for you to do apart from checking Minerva regularly for changes. Offers of admissions are released in order of a merit. " ( directly from http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/nextsteps/track/terminology)
I guess we just have to wait…I’ll keep you guys posted on any changes…Good Luck to all of you still waiting!
@intstudent2021 Which Faculty?
Is further Review Required (after everything has been sent in) equivalent to RDP?
Who/s application is still on further review required?
@foxfish mine is! Apparently your application goes back to the bottom of the bunch, when they require an additional document resulting in a long wait in further review required
Oh really?? Hope I get a decision soon though…
@foxfish At least that is what I have gathered from being on FRR for 3 months now
They want to try and get all the information out by the end of the month so you will hopefully hear back soon
@blossom27 do you know if they’re releasing ALL decisions at the end of the month or is it just for American and Canadian applicants?
@CosmicMaria they told me “we are aware of the deadlines and are trying to finish by the end of the month” and said May 15th is their normally guaranteed decision date. I don’t know how they deal with different types of applicants but I would assume Americans get mostly the same treatment as other international applicants.
@politicaldoctor Thank you! Hope you good luck
@blossom27 oh alright then. Thanks! Really hope I’ll hear from them soon. Applied in November and I’m still “ready for review”…
I got accepted about a month ago for life science & management. I had a 97 last sem & I’m an Ontario applicant. I can’t say for management, but for life science, I’m thinking that the cutoff right now is above 93% for Ontario students. My friend with a 93% has not gotten in.
If you are wondering about grades,…I would recommend having a look at :
https://www.mcgill.ca/applying/requirements/minima
It shows minimum grades per program, based on the September 2016 class.
@CosmicMaria I have called the undergraduate service last week asking about their deadlines and the response was that their ‘estimated’ time for all the decisions to have been released is mid may…
I am on RDP since early january and applied in october…! Wish you the best of luck!
@clemeverst thank you! Wish you luck too
