I'm a sophomore in Arts and I am very interested in pursuing MD/PhD degrees after Cornell. I was wondering what I should do to maximize my chances of getting into a top program. I'm majoring in Biology and planning on concentrating in either Biochemistry or Genetics. I have a 4.07/4.15 science GPA (without A+, its 3.97/3.95). Besides Biology, I study Russian and hope to get a government scholarship to study intensively there this summer. Last summer, I had my own research project with a professor on ion channel receptors and now I am in a lab studying leukemia. I have my own project and will probably publish at least 2 papers before graduating. I also plan on doing an honors thesis. I am in several clubs and do volunteering. This winter break I will be interning with a professor at a cancer hospital. My dream school would be Stanford. They take under 10 students a year, so I want to do everything in my ability to maximize my chances. Any suggestions?
