I was wondering if anyone had advice on which meal plan to choose for a freshman on campus. Do the dining halls get boring fast? Is it really that hard to spend all the money through the Trojan plan? I’m a vegetarian and a little picky if that changes things.
As a freshman, my daughter had the Gold Plan, and she was very thankful for it. It offers the unlimited swipes like the basic required plan for freshmen (Cardinal Plan) + 500 dining dollars, equating to free money… as you get more dining dollars than the actual cost differential between the Cardinal and Gold Plans. And yes… the flexibility to buy coffee, tea and/or whatever else you want from the various other dining options on campus is extremely helpful and quickly welcome. In my opinion, it is almost impossible to remain fully content with the residential dining hall options alone.
^^^Same. We did Gold for those extra dining dollars.
+2. Gold for my daughter, who is more likely to grab something at Starbucks than the cafeteria.
