Hey, I'm looking to study mechanical engineering and possibly German if I'm able to. Could somebody who know's about eithe rdepartment be able to give me an overview i.e. workload each year, difficulty of the work, what each department offers, is the first-year more or less difficult than the other years, professors etc. I hear it's great school for engineering, but I don't know much aside from that.

Im and Aerospace Major and they're pretty much Mech except for senior year.
Its a really good department and we have some of the best Profs. The work load is significant think like 10 to 15 problems a week for home work and an hour for a problem. Freshman year is a little easier, just because the material easier but you learn how to take class better as you go on, so I sort of evens out. A full course offering and plan for Mech BS is at http://mae1.cwru.edu/mae/Pages/MAE_Courses/MAE_Courses.htm

I don't know much about the German program but I do have a friend in the Mech Dept who is a Mech E German Double major and she's doing research in the robotics lab and she was president of the German club.
