Med School look back at high school awards, extracurricular activities, volunteers ?

When applying for medical school, Do they also consider big awards like gold medalist of international chemistry olympiad or sort of, and volunteering at hospitals and some bio-science research with professor ?

or do they just consider all things in undergraduate, not high school's ?

You will be given a place to officially list your accomplishments. High school things cannot be listed here. You will also be given an essay, in which you can discuss whatever you want. High school could in theory be included here.

Generally, you probably didn't accomplish anything as a HSer that med schools care about.

If you got published, I would list that publication somewhere but otherwise, no.

so an intel award loses its glamor by med school application time? damn.

The only exceptions that I made to this rule were things that were a continuance of something I did in high school or before. I'm a member of a musical group on campus, but I've been participating in musical groups of this nature since 8th grade, and I did mention that in my extra-curricular section.

Also, I listed the scholarship that I have, even though it was technically awarded while I was in high school, because it was my college that awarded it, and it is for my undergraduate education.
