Hey, I'm interested in starting a medical explorers club or something like that at my school w/ activites like volunteering at hospitals and bringing in dif. types of doctors as guest speakers. I was j/w if any of u guys have a club like that at your school or are a member of a similar club so I could get some more ideas! Thanks for any help!

There's one of these at 2 of the local hospitals (one at each hospital). It's I guess you could say organized by the Boy Scouts Exploring post, but also run semi independently if that makes sense (and girls can participate too). I participated last year. Because it was at the hospital we were also able to see different areas of the hospital, in addition to having the guest speakers. Each meeting had a different type of medical person at them (respiratory therapist, pediatric nurse, trauma nurse, oral surgeon, etc). I really don't have any suggestions as to how you could go about organizing it. I had nothing to do with organizing either of the local ones. I don't participate anymore either; it turned out to be pretty lousy. You may though want to check with a local hospital/doctor's office and see if they have any suggestions.
