Medical opportunities for high school

Hey!

So i am currently a sophomore and I am planning on becoming a doctor/surgeon when I am older. I spent last summer interning with a psychologist, but I want to do something different this year. I live in a city with LOTS of hospitals and medical programs, so i am probably going to volunteer at a hospital but I also want to take part in a more educational experience. Any ideas on how I can get involved with medicine while still in highschool? Heard you can become a registered nurse when 16 …

Thanks!

A registered nurse who is 16? I hope not! Maybe an EMT?

in some states you can become a CNA (certified nursing assistant) at 16, but in most it’s 18 : /
I would definitely do the volunteer work though! & you could see if there are any research programs at nearby institutions, if not you could always email professors directly about possible opportunities
