Medicine

To prepare for medical school, is it better to enroll in a Pre-Med program or just to pursue a bachelors and then apply to med school? Also, is it better to get a masters and then continue to med school? Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Premed isn’t a program, it’s an intention. Your major can be anything (preferably not biology since there’s a glut of bio majors). In addition, you take a set a classes along with future majors in that subject and must rank 10-20% in every one.
These classes are: 2 semesters each of biology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, English, plus one semester each of sociology, psychology, calculus, statistics or Biostatistics, biochemistry, neuroscience or neurobiology, a diversity-focused class.
You must also volunteer In a health center or clinic, you can work as an EMT or CNA, you can do research…

It’s better to apply with a competitive application in all respects (ie, GPAs, MCAT, ECs, LoRs, PS (why medicine)). When that time will arise is dependent on your efforts. Applying broadly and to schools in line with the school’s mission statement should be considered. Major in something you’re interested in because if you like material, you’re more likely to do well GPA wise. Have a Plan B if you change your mind along the way. Good luck.
