Dillema: I hate the location of my school, and I want to be in a larger school, preferably around Northern New Jersey/New York City, or Boston. Would it be worth it to apply to schools like WPI, Northeastern, Boston College, Boston University, NYU, or maybe even some Ivy’s? I know my chance for Ivy transfer are neigh impossible given my stats, but is there anything I can do to boost these chances? I’m pretty new to the whole process.
Thank you
All the schools you’ve mentioned, also Rutgers and Columbia. For Ivies and around that level, I’d try to wait a year and transfer as a junior. If you have a 3.7 as junior transfer in Comp Sci, you will have multiple options.
Would you say something like NYU would be a safe bet then? I thought schools like Columbia have extremely low rate of admissions for transfer applicants, and wouldn’t it be pretty tough to transfer out of a non-Ivy to an Ivy school?
NYU CAS is definitely a possibility, but Columbia is probably a reach.
I meant you have a chance, still may be slim, but probably much better than that someone like I would have.
Thank you for all the replies. Would ECs help with transferring, since mine are pretty decent. I could retake the SAT but I feel like that would be frowned up or useless.
