Medscape: Head-to-Head Comparison of 25 Migraine Meds Reveals Top Options

I’ve tried them all and the only med that works for me is Rizatriptan after the migraine has begun. I have not found a preventative that works for me. Unfortunately, menopause did not lessen the frequency or intensity of my migraines.

Zomig (Zolmitriptan) changed my life. Literally. I don’t panic when I feel a migraine coming on; I take a Zomig and know that I will feel better soon. In former years I could lose a day or two a couple times a month. My only source of distress now is when insurance didn’t cover it, or severely limited amounts, but for the last few years I’ve had no trouble getting it. My GP prescribes as much as she can so I never run out.

Definitely a game-changer, and not surprised to see it listed as a top choice. It’s nice not to have to resort to curling up in a ball of pain in a dark room for hours at a time. Was definitely a challenge when the kids were young.
