Meeting Financial Need

For months I have been worrying about getting into ND...which is a long shot...now I'm worrying that IF I get in...I won't be able to afford to go. Are there people out there that have got accepted but had to pass because of the cost? I can't afford to graduate oweing over $120,00 in loans...I think our EFC is about $15,000...I have two siblings in graduate school, too...I think I would rather get rejected than get accepted and have to say no because of cost. Unfortunately...my family is in the middle financially....we don't make lots and lots of money or very little money...just enough to not get a lot of aid. What kind of aid packages have people been getting?

I got a full ride

PutshCasusBelli is very lucky, right?

My family is middle class as well.

However, I'd rather think about getting in first.

Then I'll think about the cost. I'll end up taking out a lot of loans...

Hey..PutschyCasusBelli...how many people get a full ride???? What did you have to do to get that??????? I know that if I get accepted (lol), I won't go if I have to go deep into debt or my 'rents have to...it is not fair to my family...or to my other siblings attending college/grad schools or my younger brother coming up thru the ranks of high school. I know that there are other great schools out there...and the opportunites I find are the ones that I make for myself...no matter where I go to school!

This is an old article, but it does a good job of describing my scholarship: http://www.osu.edu/osu/newsrel/Archive/95-09-12_Joyce_Scholarship_Benefits_Ohio_State_and_Notre_Dame

There were three scholars this past year

i'm so jealous! I'm about 90 miles too far north for that scholarship...
