Reflection
•Strengths: zeal for science in my essay, possibly extracurriculars
•Weaknesses: scores are meh, I believe according to Harvard statistics, and possibly lack of focus in EC's. I would have started up science-related clubs, but unfortunately, nobody that I know has signed on board concerning such things. Hope the essay and interview compensate for such things.

well where do you want to go?

What school do you want to be chanced for? Harvard, I presume?

Your stats and all other aspects of your application are solid for Harvard. Also being African American with those stats is a major bonus. It will all come down to the essay you submit and luck. But you’ll be accepted as far as I’m concerned.

Sorry my bad:
Harvard EA
Stanford
Columbia
UCLA
UC Berkeley
Harvey Mudd
Johns Hopkins
Pomona
MIT
Yale
Princeton

Bump. Buuuuuuuuuuuump >:d

URM status should boost you a lot…

Generally not so amazing ECs though (NHS, Key Club)
Are you a varsity runner?

SAT is a little weak for your top schools (HYPSM, Columbia)

Overall, good chances at all schools.

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1237255-chance-junior-chance-back-guaranteed.html</a></p>

Can I ask how you’re State AP Scholar in California with only 9 APs?

CA is one of those states (like FL, MD, TX, etc.) that’s notorious for having extraordinarily high standards for State AP Scholar; I imagine the requirement is at least 18 if not 20+. There are threads with kids taking 9 APs in a year and still not making it, haha. Anyways, just curious.

While the schools you are interested in are reaches for everyone, I think you have a great chance! Just be sure to really show them passion! Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1232794-final-chance-thread-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Harvard EA - mid reach
Stanford - mid reach
Columbia - mid reach
UCLA - high match
UC Berkeley - match
Harvey Mudd - low match
Johns Hopkins - high match (admissions this yr are said to be harsh)
Pomona - In
MIT - mid reach
Yale - mid reach
Princeton - mid reach

Race plays a huge roll in top notch colleges. Your ethnicity will give you an edge over asians and whites (which I think is GROSSLY unfair haha) Good Luck, nonetheless.

Stanford - reach
Columbia - reach
UCLA - match
UC Berkeley - high match
Harvey Mudd - match
Johns Hopkins - match
Pomona - safety
MIT - reach
Yale - reach
Princeton - reach

You’re overall strong, but your SAT score is a bit on the low end for top schools and your ECs could be stronger. Ivies/Stanford/MIT are reaches, but you’ll definetly be competitive. Just make sure you apply to a few safetly schools so you’ll have some backup options.

Chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1234291-chance-alaskan-top-schools.html</a></p>

Harvard EA - reach

UCLA - match
UC Berkeley - high match
Harvey Mudd - match
Johns Hopkins - high match
Pomona - safety
MIT - reach

I would suggest that you take the SAT a third time. Your SAT II scores are ideal, but your SAT scores still have room to improve. The deadline for the December 3rd SAT is tomorrow.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1237778-what-my-chances-getting-into-nyu.html</a>
Chance me back, please.

Thanks guys. Well it’s too late to take the SAT again now LOL; honestly, I just it as pretty much a waste of time and an annoyance on my mom’s bank account. At least I have done the best with what I can, and that matters. I do understand, though, that my SAT I scores are average in scope of the Ivies, but I just got to hold out. But to clarify, in order to be a state AP scholar, you have to have a score of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams, and then the highest average score (at least 3.5) on all AP Exams taken. It’s not by state, so being Californian has nothing to do with it.

Harvard EA - very low reach - perfect grades + good SAT’s + AA = :-]
Stanford - toughest school (because you’re from Cali it’s harder, right?)
Columbia - high match
UCLA - match
UC Berkeley - match
Harvey Mudd - very low match / high safety
Johns Hopkins - low match
Pomona - high match
MIT - reach
Yale - reach
Princeton - reach

Chance me back: ■■■■■■/ChanceMe

Chance me more! D:<

African American + Solid Stats = Solid chances everywhere
