Men Lightweight Rowing Recruitment

Hi. I have a question. I know that all the ivy league schools have men lightweight rowing teams that they actively recruit for. I was curious to see what other schools have men lightweight and open weight rowing teams that they recruit for and admit students for their rowing ability. I am also curious to see what 2K times would be acceptable to gain admission to these schools.

Hi Lazer. Brown is the one Ivy without a lightweight team. For a good list of colleges with rowing teams, check out
“Sparks Rowing college rowing data base.”

Thank You carolinab for tellling me about the Sparks Rowing database. By any chance do you know the needed 2k to get recruited by each school. If you do, could you please reply.

There is a wide variety of possible college rowing clubs and teams. I think there a good deal of variability as far as their 2k requirements. Are you a junior? You might want to reach out to the Freshman or recruiting coach and ask what they are looking for in term of stats.

Also, put “rowing” or “crew” in the search function on this forum. There were quite a few rowing posts which you may find helpful.
