Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of the men’s lacrosse club? Is it open to all skill levels or are tryouts mandatory? Just trying to get a glimpse into the program. Any info appreciated! Would love to hear from past/present or future players or parents! Thanks!
I know some kids that have played there and for club teams throughout New England. There are try outs at the bigger schools like UNH, UVM, BC, NE. Maybe they keep some kids with “emerging” skills, but they won’t play in the games most likely. The MCLA is pretty competitive for club ball. I would say the majority of the kids have played at the varsity level in high school and probably some club lax as well. There are fees involved as well, anywhere from $500-$2000 per season depending if the school gives them any funding at all. They typically have a try out in the fall, and then they practice a few times a week until after winter break. After winter break is when they play their games. There is some travel to other schools and sometimes the schools head to some tournaments in the south before the season actually starts.
