Hello!

I'm attending Ohio Wesleyan University for my freshman year (where I received full tuition), but I'm quite happily planning a transfer to Wooster for the Fall Term of my Sophomore year.

I was admitted to Wooster as a freshman, but, with only a $70,000 scholarship offer, my family would have been stretched to their financial limit to pay for it; furthermore, I would have had to have taken $20,000-$22,000 upon myself in student loans.

That wasn't going to happen.

However, by accepting a year of free tuition at Ohio Wesleyan University, my father informed me that it would be significantly easier to send me to Wooster- better yet, I wouldn't be emerging from Wooster with student debt.

Here are my questions: Do transfer students qualify for merit aid? Are they also able to apply for competition scholarships, like the College Scholar Award? Those would greatly factor into my decision to possibly transfer, as I would need to secure (at the very least) the same Dean's Scholarship that I was awarded in December.

Those probably sound like silly questions, but I wanted to be certain.

Of course, none of this will be an issue if I fall in love with Ohio Wesleyan University. If I remain attached to Wooster (which also has my intended major), though, I want to be able to transfer. Just preparing in advance!

Thanks!
