Merit Aid at Mount Holyoke?

What are people’s experience with Merit Aid at Mount Holyoke? Do they tend to be pretty generous? My daughter is graduating HS in 2021.

Here is the general picture:

  • GPA: She has a 3.7 unweighted GPA with 2 AP and lots of "advanced" classes. Her school doesn't offer many APs, but offers advanced courses instead.
  • ACT: Her ACT is still unknown because her test keeps getting postponed due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. Given her practice tests, she expects to get a composite score of 30 or 31.
  • Extra-curricular: She has a moderate level of extra-curricular (3 yrs on the school newspaper, leading 2 clubs, 2 yrs on a JV sport).

They do tend to be generous but as with most colleges times are tough these days. If you look at their website under merit scholarships there are stats listed (just general ones) for those awarded merit.

I think 2021 and future years may be different as @Veryapparent said, but you can certainly look through the 2024 ED and RD acceptance threads, most people list stats as well as any merit offers there. My D20 had a 3.8, ACT 33, no APs (not offered at her school) and solid but not off-the-charts ECs. She received $30k per year as a 21st Century Scholar at Mount Holyoke. She loved MHC but also got a similar merit offer at Bryn Mawr and is headed there. It was a tough decision between the two.

My daughter will be a Senior at Mount Holyoke this year. She had a 3.85 GPA, 8 AP’s and 1450 SAT, and pretty good e.c’s., and received the Leadership Merit Scholarship for $20,000 per year. She loves it there, really missed her friends when the semester got cut short.
