My family doesn’t qualify for need based aid from FAFSA so I was wondering if I have good chances of getting Merit Aid with a 4.0 GPA, good test scores (30 ACT, 1300 SAT) and good ECs…?
Are you a senior? Are these your actual or predicted stats?
I’m a senior, and prospectively applying to private schools like USC, and Santa Clara. Those are my actual stats.
Probably not at those schools, but try these schools:
Not at those schools…your stats would need to be much higher for USC…and probably at least a 33 to get decent merit from SCU.
Your stats are LOW for USC…getting accepted will be difficult. 5 years ago, my nephew, top 5% of his class, with an ACT 31, and a legacy, was rejected by USC.
How much will your parents pay each year?
You need to apply to schools that will give you merit for the amount that your parents won’t pay.
