Very expensive school, but hoping for some merit aid. Thoughts?
GPA: 3.85
SAT: 1490 (could be a little higher, wiating for recent scores to be posted)
Decile 1 (Top 10% of 350 students in the grade, ranking not available)
Public high school: Enrolled in most difficult courses (AP/Honors/Magnet Program), enrolled in magnet program for law (selected to attend high school in 8th grade, based on grades and test scores)
AP Scores: 4 Lang, 4 APUSH, 5 US GOV
Ethnicity: Asian female (adopted), Roman Catholic, single parent (other parent passed away)…content is focus of common app essay
Major: International Studies (Lincoln Center)
Extras: Mock Trial State Champion (competed at national competition), President of 2 clubs, Cabinet member of JSA, intern w/ local campaigns and democrat headquarters
Run the NPC on the Fordham website. That won’t necessarily be the max amount as they can add to that, but it’s pretty much a guarantee for the given stats.
How much are your parents willing and able to pay? Have you considered other Catholic schools like. Villanova , Providence, to name a few better known ones. Are you eligible for financial aid? Do some NPCs—BC, Villanova among a few.
With comparable stats and probably slightly better ECs in the admissions cycle 2 years ago, our son got about $35k in merit aid to Fordham. Another poster mentioned Villanova; our son got $15,000 in merit there for a scholarship he had to apply for by separate application. But these schools don’t look just at stats for scholarships, so YMMV.
