Finance major, actually. And 25+ years in the field. :)

Are you a professor?

You’ll not mind if I don’t seek your investment advice on my IRA nor have you do the 2010 return, I hope. Nothing personal.;)

Denison is willing to “pay itself” for merit earners but not to have actual funds leave the school. I can understand that. DD1 used her stipend to stay at school over the summer while working an internship.

Thanks ED. A very simple, clear illustration edifying why DU chooses not to provide DU $$ to non-DU institutions. It would be an enormous net-revenue loser and grossly unfair/unethical to payers and donors.

My daughter is a freshman at Denison and a scholarship recipient. At first I thought that the school’s refusal to allow scholarship money for study abroad was nuts. But it does make sense, as both ED and WP pointed out. The overseas programs are usually less money than a semester at home would cost. Fortunately, Denison does not charge tuition above the cost of the summer program as do other schools.
My D is adamant about studying overseas and we will find a way. (I think she is getting cabin fever after a fierce winter and is hoping to travel to warmer climates)
